The course

Pete Dye carved the Straits Course from flat lakeshore land north of Sheboygan, reshaping it into a windswept links along two miles of Lake Michigan frontage with hundreds of bunkers and roaming sheep. It has hosted three PGA Championships and the 2021 Ryder Cup, where the United States posted a record-margin win. The walking-only layout rewards golfers who can hold their line into the lake breeze.

Signature hole: The 17th, named "Pinched," is a par 3 that plays along the bluff above Lake Michigan with the green falling away toward the water.
