About
Years from now you won't remember the number you shot. You'll remember the morning light on the first tee, who walked it with you, and the course that made you fall for the game. Fairways keeps that record.
The Why
The best part of golf was never the scorecard. It's the places. The bucket-list links you saved for years. The muni where you learned the game. The trip with old friends that you talk about for a decade.
There were good apps for the score, the swing, the yardage. There was no good place for the part golfers actually talk about: the courses. So we built one. Fairways is the journal of where your game has taken you, one entry per course, kept the way you'd keep a passport.
Update Augusta after the second visit. You don't get two Augustas. You get a deeper one.
The Method
Ask a golfer to rate a course one to ten and you'll get a number they can't defend. Was it a seven or an eight? Nobody knows. People are unreliable raters. But they are reliable comparers.
So Fairways never asks for a number. It asks the one question you can always answer: this course, or that one? Make a few quick calls and your honest ranking falls out of where each course lands. No sliders, no stars, no panel of editors deciding for you.
Do that across thousands of golfers and you get something rare: a ranking built from real rounds and real comparisons. Not the loudest opinion. The collected taste of the people who actually walked the fairways.
A magazine prints one panel's opinion once a year. We let the golfers vote with every round.
Plainly Stated
A clear product is built as much from what it refuses to be. Here is what we are not, and never will be.
We don't measure the distance to the pin. Other apps do that well. Fairways is about the course as a place, not a laser to the flag.
No hole-by-hole entry, no round logging. It's a journal of the courses you've played, not the strokes you took getting around them.
We tried it. It pulled the product toward utility and away from the thing golfers love to talk about. So we dropped it on purpose.
No banners, no paywall, no Pro tier. Fairways is funded by quiet affiliate links in the shop and tee-time booking, only where they belong.
Your record is yours. We don't sell it, we don't auction it, and we don't run fake sponsored reviews to muddy the ranking. Ever.
The head-to-head comparison, the heart of Fairways, is free forever. We will not put the mechanic that makes this honest behind a price.
The courses are the point. Everything in Fairways exists to keep, rank, and share the record of where you've played.
Founding Members
Every product has a first thousand. On Fairways, they keep a permanent Founding Member number on their profile, a small mark of having been here at the start. It never expires and it can't be bought back.
Start your record now and the number is yours.

The list of courses you've played is one of the quiet pleasures of the game. It grows slowly, it tells a story, and it's worth keeping well. We built Fairways to keep it well. We hope it earns a place at your club.
Welcome to Fairways. We're glad you walked in.
