Del Monte Forest, CA

Spyglass Hill Golf Course

A Robert Trent Jones Sr. course.

The course

Set in the Del Monte Forest on the Monterey Peninsula, Spyglass Hill opens with five holes along the Pacific dunes before turning inland through stands of Monterey pine. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and named for a Robert Louis Stevenson novel, it is regarded as one of the sterner tests in American public golf and shares the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am rotation with Pebble Beach and Monterey Peninsula Country Club.

Signature hole: The par-5 first hole drops from the pines toward the Pacific, finishing amid the dunes and ice plant of Carmel Bay.
